Handprint Story from Percy and Donna Malone Child Safety Center
During the school year, sometimes advocacy looks like teaching a group of students how to keep themselves and their loved ones safe. I have been able to speak to many middle schoolers about digital safety, cyberbullying, safe adults, and so much more. I was handed a note after one of these sessions. An artistic teen had drawn a portrait of me with my name badge and wrote the following at the bottom:
"PS: I went somewhere to talk to someone and they let the kids put there hand prints on the wall. Mine is there as well. I was 11, I am now 14 ;)"
